Synopsis
The story is about how a human being, William Twining, who is the descendant of Solomon, becomes the elector to decide who will be the interim ruler while Lucifer is resting to regain his power. Twining is a realist; he does not believe the existence of gods, devils, either ghost. To accidentally summoned a devil from his basement, he struggles to face the truth.

Story Telling
This anime is not appealing to me at all. It does not present the back story well. Everything is so vague and confusing because they insert the background story here and there. The pieces of back story are controversial. They don't tell a complete story. Moreover, in the end of the anime, I still don't get the whole picture of the devil deals (or maybe I'm too dump). Devils are glorified and the angel is mind-twistingly evil. I was expecting to see some great plot-twists, but I was disappointed. In the last episode, I noticed they use the scenes repeatedly and that really show how lazy or careless the animation team is. Taking all the flashback parts out, the story of Twining itself is more about comedy and a bit of BL, I must say.

Character
The characters in this anime are 90% male. Some male characters are presented as more feminine. The character buildings for main characters are quite strong, but there are too many side characters and I did not see quite a complete presentation of their personalities.

Overall
The reason why Devils and Realist got so low rate from me is that it does not present a complete and comprehensive back story to me. I didn't even know what happened to Solomon. Plus, the team used repeated footage. I don't really recommend this anime unless you are into BL.
