Synopsis
As the name suggests, the story is about Kambe Daisuke, a millionaire who works as a detective in a police department. The stereotype about affluence people is right—they are keen to use money to solve any problem. Another inspector, Kato Haru, who sworn to serve the justice to the society, obviously is not happy with how Kambe does as a police. As the story unravel, there is more reason behind Kambe’s choice of working in a police department. Kato and Kambe also become great partners.

Character
I love how the story continues to build a special characteristic or unique points for each detectives in the department. I am not good with names and face recognition. Hence, I think this is comfortable for me to remember everyone. Even though there is not much for some characters, it shows the attentiveness of the writer. For instance, a female colleague who loves eating exotic snack; a male colleague who loves watching erotic stuff; an overly chilled boss. The dressing styles and faces are unique for everyone as well. Therefore, it is easy to recognize characters other than the main ones.
My favorite character, of course, is Kambe Daisuke. Who does not love a man with class, great taste, and brilliant? And he is super rich. Well, that is a plus. Although he does not talk much nor reveal his thoughts, unless necessary, he is not rude to anyone, which shows how decent a man he is. I love the idea of totaling the expenses at the end of the episode; it further emphasizes how rich the Kambes are. The way the voice actor express Kambe is fairly different to how the typical calm character would sound. For example, like Sebastian Michaelis or Levi Ackerman. I find it a bit weird and unacceptable at first, but it kinda fits well with the foreign upbringing of the character and the voice gives out a high-class vibe, so I quickly grew accustomed to it.
Story
As usual, the first few episodes are to introduce the setting and characters. However, it was not boring at all. Although we all know that Kambe is a millionaire; thus we expect him to use money as solution to everything, the solutions he comes up with surprise me every time. Maybe my poverty limits my imagination about how money could be used creatively. Plus, there are elements of new technology and AI which exceeds the daily technology I use.
The main story line is revealed by giving out subtle hints one at a time. If you have been watching attentively, you will sense that a big reveal is coming soon. It is predictable that there is big secret behind all these because a rich man does not just work at a police department to flex his wealth. The process of chasing the truth about Kambe’s parents’ death is exciting, surprising and captivating. The writer does not end the story in a complete twist. Though predictable, it is logical and believable. Moreover, to make the tone of the anime consistent to the millionaire theme, each episode title is money-related. It is so fulfilling after watching this anime.
Music
I have to write a section to compliment the music of this anime. Both the opening and ending songs are perfect for the story. They are worth being put in single-repeat mode. Not to mention, the millionaire detective theme song which comes off whenever Kambe appears to does a millionaire thing. The sound track composer of this anime also composed for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
Conclusion
I love this anime not only because the main character is good-looking, although this is one of the main criteria, but also the plot, the story telling, and the surprise elements in each episode. It is not hard to see the effort of the anime team put into the subtle details that bring the whole thing together. It is relaxing and funny, so I would suggest this anime to everyone who needs a break from the boring and stressful reality. During this COVID-19 pandemic, this is truly the best thing happening in 2020.
